Interest/Career in paranormal/ journalism:-
My intrest in ufology began at the age of 8, following an aledged abduction event, involving nordic type aliens, in a cigar Chapel craft, along with my late parents. At Plympton nr.Plymouth, in Devon in 1965.
Afterwards I also spent quite few years of my pre-teen life, Iiving in a severely haunted, 17th century country cottage, on the main Powderham Castle Estate, home of the Earls of Devon. This fuelled up a very keen intrest in ghosts and poltergeist also!.
In 1976, I had the really good fortune to listen to, and meet up with, the qell-known ufology investigator and journalist, Arthur Shuttlewood, when he gave a lecture in my home town.He fired up, even more, my yearning for ufology!, and I travelled to Warminster, and took part in a mass skywatch at cradle hill, along Mr.Shuttlewood. This man was a hugh inspiration and encourager of my paranormal journalist/ investigator future!
At college in 1976, I wrote for the college rag mag, which gave me loads of practical practice in journalism., then, in 1996, I was at work, as a cab owner in Exmouth, when, parked on the rank, I listened to two guys on Radio Devon, talking on a show called “Weird about the West” they were on about a wave of ufo sightings, that were happening over my home town of Exmouth..I ran to the public phone box on the rank, and phoned into the show, to argue some points with them!..Somewhat angry, I then radiwd into base, left work early, and drove 13 miles ro Exwtr, to find this chaps home in Elwick, to continue our discussion!!!
Eventually I met Jonathan Downes and Graham Inglis, the gents from tue radio show, and spent the whole evening talking f over not only ufos, but ghosts, and Jon’s speciality Cryptozoology!..In the end, I gave up taxi driving f, became a freelance paranormal journalist and investigator, joined Jon’s group, The Centre For Fortean Zoology, as his PA/driver, and a full time investigator
Soon I got a weekly column on the paranormal, in my local paper, the Exmouth journal, and vegan writing and having published, articles for magazines such as Paranormal and take a break fate and fortune, I also had the fantastic fortune to work for, and be ame good freinds with a huge figure in UK ufology and publishing, the late, great, Graham Birdsall. He really encouraged my writing and eventually all these people I’d got to know and work with led to TV appearances, radio work and then Jon and I co-wrote my first book “The Rising Of The Moon”. Later Jon & I gave lectures together, and many adventures, chasing creatures all over the UK…
After many different types of paranormal research and writing, etc, I finally retired fr9m dull t8me journalism and research a few years ago, due to my bad health. I still however write every day on FB, etc, and continue to keep upto date with paranormal matters!..a real lifetime of 58 years passion for the paranormal..
