The 55-year-old, who has not yet been identified, had walked away from her vehicle while waiting for the AA to come just before Christmas. Police found her body in Monkton, Ayrshire in Scotland. They say she had been partially eaten by wildlife.
It’s understood that her car had broken down on the side of a country road in December, and rang roadside assistance. The woman, from the Airdrie area, then wandered off while waiting for AA to arrive in fields nearby. Her car was then found On December 18 and a missing persons inquiry was launched.
The next day police found her body close to where her car was left using sniffer dogs. The police think a fox or badger may be responsible for the mauling and the death is not being treated as suspicious, according to The Daily Record.
A source close to this story stated “She had phoned the AA to try to get them to come and help. But rather than waiting with the vehicle, she got out and walked away, cutting through the fields. She’s then died while she’s been going through the fields.”
