At 9pm on Friday 21/4/23 I was contacted by BBR Investigator Lee Despard who was in Cornwall when he spotted some very strange lights in the sky. Lee, a keen fisherman, was in the area when he saw the strange lights. He explained his experience and described the lights in detail: “I saw some really strange lights in the sky last night and they were out over a field at the back of the fishery I was on. They are not something I have seen before and I can’t explain what they were. I fish at night often and I am always out in nature and these lights were not what you would normally see.

The whole event went on for about 45 minutes. I was back down at the same lake last night (22/4/23) as I wanted to be in the same spot in the dark to see if I was mistaking something natural for the lights and there was nothing apparent. Even in the daylight hours I couldn’t see anything that would account for what I saw. I had a good look to see if something new had been put up like a phone tower with reflectives of some kind but there was nothing to see.

Lee took a couple of videos of the strange lights that he saw. It was around 11.30 am when Lee saw the lights and I am very grateful he filmed them. Lee was lake fishing at the time and he went on to explain: The lights were really low in the field. It was not a coastguard helicopter. I see them all the time here and they make too much noise. They were too big to be a drone and were up much higher in the sky.

These lights were silent. It wasn’t Chinese lanterns as they don’t have that movement and Chinese lanterns look different and are not that big, the lights I saw were huge. My first thought was is it the starlink satellites but they are different and move in a line at a slower pace. These lights were diamond shaped with red on the top and white at the sides with a green glow at the bottom..
