It all happened on the second weekend of April 2021. The experience was wonderful and terrible, magnificent yet mortifying. Something that will stay with me till the day I take my last breath. If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I would have struggled to believe it. But I’ll try my best to express what I saw, how I felt, and what transpired one night wild camping in the hills.

Through the evening, I could hear noises around me, the cracking of twigs, rustling. I just thought it was down to the rabbits, deer or some other woodland creature moving around my camp. Out of nowhere came a low deep vibrating rumble, it came from my six o’clock position. The rumble was growing stronger and louder with every second. This sound was crippling me somehow. I was weak, I had no strength. I thought I was going to die then and there.
